The aim is to achieve the strategic objectives of Umm Al-Qura University in the field of education in developing the educational process and improving its outputs to be in line with the requirements of the labor market and the digital transformation program and in response to the requirements of the National Transformation Plan 2020 and Saudi Vision 2030. The university strives to provide the needs of the university community, including students, academic staff, employees, and supportive and administrative departments using the latest technologies based on national, regional, and international standards. The Deanship of Information Technology is entrusted with the task of disseminating the culture of information technology use and activating it through various government programs, primarily the e-government program "Yesser." To achieve this strategic objective, the deanship will carry out the following tasks:
Developing self-services, support portals, and the automation of the university's administrative systems.
Developing decision-making support systems, council management systems, and committees (policy in progress).
Developing the automation of resources management, including applications, software, and data storage methods.
Developing a database to achieve a comprehensive solution for the university systems (policy in progress).
Developing plans and policies for the performance efficiency of the deanship staff in line with local, regional, and international standards.
Developing plans and policies to measure performance, develop work, and apply e-governance in the deanship.
Supporting the technical infrastructure to provide advanced, fast, secure, and high-quality e-services.
Developing the technical infrastructure in line with local, regional, and international infrastructure.
Developing plans and policies for technical infrastructure management to increase performance of the services and information security.
Developing plans and policies to increase the performance and efficiency of the workers in the field of technical infrastructure in line with local, regional, and international standards.
Implementing the technical projects which achieve the strategic objectives of the deanship and the university.
Management of the development projects of the infrastructure and e-services.
Management of human capacity development projects in the deanship and the management of services.
Implementation and management of projects, studies, consultations, research and development and the adopted methodologies, and the tools used that are relevant to the works and tasks of the deanship.
Implementing and managing modern methodologies to develop and manage resources, technical systems, and technical services.
Management of institutional infrastructure and change projects and the application of local, regional, and international quality standards (policy in progress).
Organizing the administrative work of the deanship and providing support services efficiently, effectively, and transparently.
Boosting the human capacity of the deanship staff using integrated concepts and certified training at the local, regional, and international levels.
Providing a suitable environment for all the deanship staff to enable them to achieve tasks, follow up, and audit according to the approved rules and regulations.
Programming and activating public relations and media services using the activities and procedures adopted by the deanship.
Creating a suitable communication environment and spreading teamwork concepts to make the deanship work more effectively.
Participation in the organization of the administrative work and development of the human capacities in information technology using integrated and advanced concepts and local, regional, and international training.
