Al-Leith University College received its new students for the academic year 1442 A.H. as part of the new students' forum organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university under the slogan of 'Future Leaders'. The meeting with the new students of the college for this year was scheduled for Wednesday, 14 Muharram, 1442 A.H., 9:00 a.m.
The celebration program, presented by the student Sultan Al-Zahrani from the Media Department, was opened by welcoming the attendees, then the royal anthem was sung and recitation of verses from the Noble Qur'an were recited, followed by an introductory video about the college. After that, His Excellency the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Amer Al-Shehri, introduced the rights and duties of the student at the university stage.
Next, His Excellency the Dean of Al-Leith University College, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Maliki, delivered a speech in which he welcomed all the new students and congratulated them for their admission to the various departments of the college. He pointed out that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which prevented the direct meeting, was never an obstacle to hinder the college from holding a celebration for its new students. Moreover, it will not be a hindrance to students to complete their academic progress, as study will continue remotely through the university's e-learning system.
In his speech, Dr. Al-Maliki also called on all students to adhere to the etiquette of the seekers of knowledge, and to dedicate their efforts and time for the sake of academic achievement. He noted that the college will spare no effort in preparing the students optimally and will develop their capabilities in order to be the builders of this country, which provided them with all the facilities that help them in their academic development. Furthermore, Dr. Al-Maliki praised the care and attention given by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah safeguard him, and His Highness the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to the youth of this blessed country in various fields, particularly in education. This, in turn, will make the students sense the great responsibility towards themselves, their community, and their country at this early stage of their university education. He finally wished them success in their academic journey.
Finally a question and answer session was run, and the meeting ended with valuable draws offered by the Vice Dean of Student Activities and Training, Dr. Yasser Al-Hazmi.
