The Vice Deanship of Student Affairs in Al-Leith University College held a virtual meeting between the students and His Excellency the Dean of Al-Leith University College for the college's male and female students, in cooperation with the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, via the Webex program. The meeting with the male students was held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., while the meeting with the female students was from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 14 Sha`ban, 1441 A.H. His Excellency the Vice Dean of Technical Affairs at the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, Dr. Ahmad Al-Harthi, and the Engineer Abdul-Rahman Bawazeer virtually moderated the online meeting. His Excellency the Vice Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs in Al-Leith, Dr. Amer bin Saeed Al-Shihri, moderated the meeting for the male students section, while Her Excellency the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rasha Majlad, moderated the meeting for the female students section.
His Excellency the Dean of the College welcomed the male and female students, noting the support of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, and appreciating his constant directives to always fulfill the needs of the male and female students as well as his unceasing keenness to facilitate the affairs of the students, especially in light of the Coronavirus (CONVID-19) pandemic. His Excellency the Dean of the College appreciated the response of the students of the college to attend their lectures as well as their distinguished interaction during the sessions via the online education platform provided by Umm Al-Qura University; the study did not stop and a switch to distance education was made from the first day of the suspension of study on campus. He also praised the voluntary efforts made by the male and female students during the crisis period.
After this, the Dean of the College indicated that this meeting aims to identify the needs of the students and the obstacles they face, noting that electronic surveys had previously been circulated to male and female students through the college website. The surveys were circulated to the male and female students and the results were studied by the different departments in the college. This meeting comes to complement these efforts.
Next, the male and female students, in both of the meetings, noted their remarks and asked inquiries, which were all taken and aptly responded to by His Excellency the Dean of the College. Each meeting concluded by urging the male and female students to achieve academic success. Moreover, the students were informed that all departments of the college will work to take into account the conditions of students in this crisis, adopting all available soft options which are consistent with the students’ capabilities. He also stressed the importance to adhere to precautionary and preventive measures and to cooperate with all the state sectors to reduce the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Furthermore, he highlighted the remedial and preventive measures provided by this blessed country to the citizens, residents, and even illegal residents, by which we should all abide. Finally, he supplicated Allah to remove the epidemic from this blessed country and from all humanity.
