Under the auspices of the Vice Deanship for Student Affairs at Al-Leith University College, and in the presence of the Vice Dean of the College, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, the heads and deputy heads of the departments, and a large number of female students, Al-Leith University College held the College Role Model Contest on Monday morning, 30 Jumada Al-Thani, 1441 A.H. The event was opened by the contest coordinator at the college, Dr. Alaa Al-Sharif, who welcomed the audience and stated that the winner of the title will qualify for the second phase of the contest, contending for the title of Role Model of Umm Al-Qura University.
Out of the seven female students who ran for the contest, five students were nominated for this phase: Nawal Qabil Al-Yazidi and Bushra Badi Al-Zahrani from the Department of Physics, Maryam Abdullah Al-Barakati from the Department of Social Service, Saadiah Naser Al-Maliki from the Department of Family Education, and Asmaa Ahmad Al-Subai`i from the Department of English Language.
The five students showcased their presentations, each giving a talk about her autobiography and accomplishments before the jury, supported by pictures and certificates. The jury consisted of Dr. Uhoud Al-Sharif, Dr. Mudi Al-Kuraida, and Dr. Asmaa Bukhari.
All the female candidates finished their presentations, and then the attendees cast their votes. After the deliberations of the jury, the evaluation of the elocution and presentation of each candidate, and adding the result of the vote, the student Saadia Al-Maliki was awarded the College Role Model title, consequently being nominated for the second phase of the Role Model of Umm Al-Qura University. On the other hand, the student Asmaa Al-Subai`i won the second place, and was nominated as a reserve candidate for the second phase.
Finally, the coordinator thanked the audience, including the faculty members, jury, and students, and wished that the winner of the competition will be a good representative of the college, winning the UQU Role Model title.
