In this activity, students learned that vegetarian foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes reduce the incidence of a number of diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure when compared to foods rich in meat and fat.
They also learnt what is meant by phytochemicals, their types, natural sources, and how to eat them. The course was supported by a PowerPoint presentation.
The activity was held under the supervision of Dr. Hajar Bura`i.
