The Department of Physics (Female Section) at Al-Leith University College organized the Physics in Our Lives exhibition on Monday 25 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. The exhibition included 16 physics experiments prepared by the female students under the supervision of academic staff.
The exhibition was designed to explain the importance of physics in our lives by presenting some simple physics prototypes and experiments to help us understand the principles of some universal phenomena and be familiar with the equipment used in different physics applications. These applications highlight the importance of physics in all aspects of life.
The exhibition included several experiments in different fields of physics, as follows:
Experiments in the field of mechanics: such as pendulum wave, moment of a couple experiment, and the floating objects and fluid density experiment.
Experiments in the field of light: such as the phenomenon of laser light refraction in water, hierarchical hologram, the manual projector, in addition to the laser light effect on different colors of balloons.
Electronic and electrical experiments: such as insulators and conductors, parallel circuit, the light bulb experiment, and the simple motor experiment.
Energy production experiments: such as water purification by solar energy, and a display of renewable energies such as wind, water, and solar energy.
The activity was held under the supervision of the deputy head of the department, Dr. Nihad Abdul-Qadir Sha`ir, Dr. Amal Al-Sayed, Dr. Na`imah Matirawi, Ms. Nouf Al-Hargani, Ms. Rihab Al-Mahdawi, and Ms. Soaad Al-Amri.
