Under the auspices of Al-Leith University College, and the slogan, "Walking for Better Health", a number of faculty members, students from different departments and levels, and administration employees participated in launching the International Walking Day on Tuesday, 29 Rabi` Al-Awwal 1441 A.H., at the gym in building B, under the leadership of the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Rasha Majlad. Her Excellency stressed the importance of walking for half an hour a day, to have a healthy body and regularly get rid of toxins.
Dr. Saadiyah Al-Harbi, Deputy Head of the Department of Mathematics, added that walking daily is important to have a fresh mind and enjoy mental health, for better productivity. Dr. Azhar Samkari, the Head of the Department of Education and Psychology, highlighted the importance of healthy meals and their role in promoting human health in order to practice daily activities well.
The participation of female students was varied: the students of the Department of Mathematics opened an awareness scene, explaining how to walk in a healthy manner and avoid walking in the wrong way, in order to cultivate a sustainable healthy habit. Students from other departments participated in the distribution of healthy meals and symbolic gifts to the participants of the event.
The event concluded with all participants being happy and pleased, and all agreeing on the necessity to hold such events from time to time.
