Within the endeavors of Umm Al-Qura University to meet the requirements of the institutional and programmatic accreditation and to boost performance level in the university, the Quality and Academic Development Unit at Al-Leith University College organized a training program on Monday, 1 Safar, 1441 A.H., under the auspices of the Dean of Al-Leith University College, under the title, "Formulation of Learning Outcomes", from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the college meeting hall. The program was presented by the Supervisor of the Quality and Academic Development Unit at Al-Leith University College (female section), Dr. Amal bint Uwais Sabir.
The training targeted all the members of the academic staff at Al-Leith University College and Al-Leith Health College. During the program, the attendees were trained on how to describe the different academic programs and courses in the two colleges, and how to formulate the learning outcomes according to the following fields (knowledge, skills, and competences) defined by the Saudi Arabia Qualification Framework (SAQF). Dr. Amal bint Uwais pointed out the importance of defining the necessary practices to achieve the conditions and requirements set by the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAA), in addition to providing the Deanship of Quality and Academic Development with all the documents and proofs of these practices.
At the conclusion, a panel discussion was held with the guests of the training program about the remarks and advantages of the advanced preparation to describe the academic programs and courses. The panel came up with several recommendations that will have a significant impact on the different programs of the educational process.
