Under the patronage and presence of Her Excellency Dr. Sarah Omar Al-Khuli, UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, and along with the attendance of the college vice deans, heads and deputies of departments, academic staff members as well as college affiliates, a graduation ceremony was held for UQU students (from Al-Leith and Adham Branches) for the academic year 1439-1440 A.H. This ceremonious event took place on Monday 18/7/1440 A.H., at Al-Louloua Celebration Hall in Al-Leith.
The ceremony began with a recitation of some verses of the Holy Qur'an, after which a video about the history of Umm Al-Qura University was shown. The ceremony then proceeded with the procession of the 878 female graduates from the diverse colleges of Al-Leith and Adham branches. Following this, a welcoming speech to the college vice deans was delivered by the Vice Dean of Al-Leith University College, Dr. Eman Al-Lihaibi, in which she congratulated the graduates on their achievements, and expressed her pride in them, and wished them all constant success and progress.
In her speech, she tackled the process of construction and achievement espoused by the Kingdom's modern vision for empowering women and supporting them to carry out their pioneering and developmental role. She pointed out that the wise government of the country has been keen on educating women, and providing them with opportunities, and eliminating any difficulties that might come up against them, out of the leadership deep belief in the role that women play in raising generations and building nations. Finally, she expressed her appreciation for the efforts put forth by His Excellency the UQU President to distinguish and elevate the university's position. She also thanked the UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, the female academic staff members, and everyone who contributed to the development process.
The ceremony included the performance of an operetta dedicated to Umm Al-Qura University, which was followed by a word of the Vice President for Student Affairs. She congratulated the graduates on their success, and encouraged them to persevere tirelessly in their goals. She then thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince for the support and care they have offered, and still offering, to knowledge and its seekers. She also thanked His Excellency the UQU University President for his directions that the graduation ceremony should be held at Al-Leith Governorate Branch to facilitate the coming of the female students.
Next, student Manal Hamid Al-Awfi delivered a word on behalf of her colleagues in which she urged them to exert diligent efforts, to invest the knowledge they have acquired during the university stage, and to continue to renew and develop their knowledge as a token of their loyalty to this nation and its wise leadership.
In conclusion of the ceremony, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs honored the outstanding graduates from all colleges and departments.
