The Department of Da`wah and Islamic Culture (female section) at Al-Leith University College held a scholarly forum entitled, 'Morals of the Scholar and the Learner', on Wednesday, 5 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H.

The forum was carried out by the female students and academic staff members affiliated to the Department's Activities Committee with the aim of introducing the virtue of seeking knowledge, and clarifying the teacher's right which the learner has to respect. This activity also aimed at clarifying the learner's rights which the teacher should respect, and explaining the Islamic legal origin of the rights of the teacher and the learner.

The activities were launched one week before the start of the forum, as a new method for spreading knowledge by introducing the morals of the scholar and the learner to the female students of Al-Leith University College. In order to achieve the objective of spreading knowledge among the students, the learners had practice in giving speeches and taking part in dialogues. There were seven female students who participated in spreading knowledge, and the number of beneficiaries was 107 female students. A number of female students posted tweets using the logo of the forum, and clarified the information they acquired during the forum. A board was allocated for displaying relevant information at the college. The female students were encouraged to participate in the forum for them to gain more self-confidence, and to interact with the community in an active and innovative manner. During the forum, some Qur'anic verses were recited, and then a female student recited a poem which she had composed. After that, a welcoming speech was delivered by Prof. Mazharah Al-Shamaili on behalf of the Head of the Department. In addition, Ms. Ghalia Ahmad Al-Rifa'i engaged in a dialogue with the female students about the morals of the teacher.

At the end of the forum, prizes were distributed to the female winners of the competition to design a logo for the department.
