The Department of Family Education at Al-Leith University College, (female section), held a training course entitled "Decoupage Art". The course took place on Sunday, 2 Safar, 1440 A.H.
The introduction covered mainly general information about decoupage art and its importance in producing creative and beautiful pieces of art, or transforming old and unwanted items into something unique and useful. The aim of this course was to help the graduates be able to handle small projects.
The trainer then introduced the materials used in the art of decoupage, and how to properly prepare the surface to be designed. First, she demonstrated the techniques on a piece of wood, and clarified the steps that are followed, in the proper order, and the method of gluing the design onto a given surface. Next came the practical application of what had been learned in the training workshop.
This course was held under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Prof. Amal Uwais, and the Coordinator of the Graduates Committee at the department, Dr. Amal Nasr Jaafar. The course was presented by Ms. Hajar Al-Qahtani.
