The Social Service Department in Al-Leith (Female Section) held an educational program on the World Heart Day, on Monday 6 Safar, 1440 A.H. The event was carried out by the female students of the Department of Social Service, in the Field Training course (4).
The program included a presentation on heart disease, its causes, types, and methods of treatment. The role of the social worker in dealing with chronic diseases, especially heart patients, was then discussed. There were also a talk on healthy and unhealthy foods for the heart, and some examples of these foods were given. The goal of the activity was to raise the amount of education and health awareness about heart disease to increase protection from the disease.
The activity was held under the supervision of the Deputy Head of the Department, Dr. Rasha Mijlid, and the professor of the course, Laila Al-Abbud.
