The Department of Social Service (girls section) presented an activity titled: “I’m the Social Medical Specialist” on Monday 30 Rajab 1439AH. The activity was done by the students of the Social Service Department. It aimed to educate students on the skills and role of the social medical specialist in medical institutions and shed light on the ethical covenant of social medical specialists. The topics tackled in the activity included (therapeutic roles of the medical social worker for the department of surgery, the developmental role of diabetics, and the preventive role of heart patients). Additionally, light was shed on the most prominent skills used by the medical social worker, including communication, problem analysis, and the ability to impact. The activity included a power point presentation and a corner for brochures and leaflets explaining the activity. The activity was held under the supervision of the Vice Head of the Department, Dr. Rasha Majlad and Course Professor Omnia Al-Hendi.
