On Monday, 11 February 2019, Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Deanship of Information Technology, participated in "Oracle Open World Middle East", to showcase its pioneering experience in the use of modern technology.
The Vice Dean of Information Technology for e-Transactions, Dr. Atif Al-Hajaili, participated in the main discussion session entitled, "The World of Tomorrow ... Today", to review the university's experience and plans for digital transformation.
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Hajaili reviewed the achievements of the university in using Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse technology.
It is worth mentioning that "Oracle Open World Middle East" is held annually in the United States. It is considered one of the most important technical conferences, and it is currently being held for the first time in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 11 and 12 February. The university was invited by the company to offer its expertise to more than 3000 specialists who attended the conference. The university was represented by Eng. Ashraf Asfur, Eng. Husain Al Zahrani, and Eng. Ghassan Thabit from the Applications Department at the Deanship of Information Technology, as well as the Vice Dean of Information Technology for e-Transactions, Dr. Atif Al-Hajaili.
