Under the support and guidance of the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the Deanship of Information Technology launched the experimental operation of the updated academic system running on web technologies instead of old Oracle models.
In view of this, the Acting Dean of Information Technology, His Excellency Dr. Atef Al-Hejaili, presented a remote workshop to introduce the new system and how it works on Monday, 20 Dhul-Hijjah, 1441 A.H., to more than 200 academic staff members, including: college deans, college vice deans, and heads of departments. During the workshop, he spoke about the features of the updated academic system and explained that registration systems, academic affairs, academic transactions and results will be run through the new system synchronously with the old system. "Transactions will be implemented through either system during the experimental operation," he elucidated.
This workshop will be followed by several specialized workshops to explain details and features of the system. Moreover, during the coming period, special rooms will be allocated for technical support through the virtual talks and support program "Teams". Similar to all systems of the Deanship of Information Technology, technical support can be requested via the technical support tickets on the deanship website, after which an expert team will contact you and respond to your inquiries.
His Excellency extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the University for his boundless support. He also expressed his appreciation to Their Excellencies the Vice Presidents of the University and the success partners in the Deanship of Admission and Registration and the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies. He asked Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) for this system, which was developed internally by the university affiliates, to become a positive turning point for the technical services of this entity.
