Delegation of the Deanship of Information Technology at the Islamic University Visits Its Counterpart in UQU to Exchange Experience

The Deanship of Information Technology received a delegation from the Deanship of Information Technology at the Islamic University to discuss aspects of cooperation and common experience. The delegation of the Islamic University was headed by the Dean of Information Technology, His Excellency Dr. Sami Al-Bouq, and Umm Al-Qura University was represented by the Acting Dean of Information Technology, His Excellency Dr. Atef Al-Hejaili, and a number of the vice deans and employees.

The meeting included discussions about the most recent systems that the Deanship of Information Technology at Umm Al-Qura University is designing, which are being developed and are intended to be launched soon, Allah willing. They include the following: admission and registration system, personnel and finance system, academic portal system, "My Site" system, digital content management, councils and committees management system, and others.

On his part, the Acting Dean of Information Technology at Umm Al-Qura University, His Excellency Dr. Atef Al-Hejaili, stated that the university, according to its strategic plan, seeks to provide distinguished technology; accordingly, the Deanship of Information Technology is proud to have 70% of its systems developed internally. The Deanship also seeks to benefit from graduates of computer colleges, and the Saudization of the field of technology in the relevant deanships.

Moreover, the meeting discussed means of joint cooperation between Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Deanship of Information Technology, and the Islamic University, represented by their Deanship of Information Technology. It also discussed consultation and training, sharing experience, dealing with emergencies, as well as managing and building teams, and analyzed the requirements for automating the procedures of the various bodies of the university.
