Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi was honored by Dar Al-Hekma University (DAH) Board of Trustees on the occasion of his assignment as Vice-President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) for Development and Entrepreneurship. This was after the merger of both the Vice-Presidencies for Development and Community Service and Business and Innovation into one Vice-Presidency titled Development and Entrepreneurship. The honoring stemmed from the cooperation between UQU and DAH in the academic and research domains in addition to Dr. Ghazi’s prominent role in activating such cooperation. It is worth mentioning that the event, which was attended by the members of DAH Board of Trustees, took place on Thursday 22nd Muharram 1439H (12th October 2017).
On his part, Dr. Ghazi expressed his thanks and appreciation to DAH Board of Trustees for such initiative and honor. He also commended the role played by the Board to develop national education and present it distinctly at a high level of quality in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He added that in the coming period, work would be expanded on cooperation between the two universities in entrepreneurship and supporting innovative people.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Hani Ghazi is a member of the Board of Trustees and a nominee of the Ministry of Education (MOE). The Board of Trustees is also membered by Professor Eng. Zuhair Faiz (the President), Eng. Yahia bin Laden, Eng. Abdullah Baqshan, Eng. Qais Jeleidan, Sheikh Saleh Al-Turki, Eng. Osama As-Sayed, Dr. Soheir Al-Qurashi (DAH University President), Dr. Haya Al-Awwad (from the MOE), Dr. Thurayya Obaid, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Saqr, Dr. Muhammad Al-Wada’an, Dr. Nabil Al-Rajeh, as well as Dr. Yaser Al-Khatib (from the MOE).
On the same occasion, Dr. Majid bin Muhammad Al-Qathami, Dean of Information Technology, expressed his sincere congratulations, in his name and on behalf of the staff of the Deanship, to Dr. Ghazi for such trust. He also stressed that Dr. Ghazi was a permanent leader of development and innovation, and wished that Allah, the Almighty, would grant him more guidance and success.
