- 2021/04/11

Praises be to God by Whose grace good deeds are accomplished, and peace and blessings be upon the noblest of prophets and messengers, Muhammad Ibn Abdillah, and upon his household and companions, and those following him until the Day of Judgment.

The College of Medicine at Umm Al-Qura University is one of the leading medical colleges in the field of medicine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a distinction stemming from the honor that God has conferred thereupon being located near His Sanctified House.

Since the start of its medical journey in the year 1416 AH, corresponding to 1995, the College has been witnessing a tireless, dynamic movement to set off toward the best in the embodiment of the University’s strategy in building community partnership; creating the total quality system; and obtaining academic accreditation, in a way that helps it attain distinction and rise to global leadership.

The College seeks to crystalize Umm Al-Qura University’s vision that is based on combining originality and modernity by providing students with the foundation for the science and knowledge of scientific and practical skills in relation to medical sciences; disseminating knowledge; and spreading medical awareness. This is by focusing on the following distinguished areas:

  1. University education that allows graduates to resume education and training at distinguished international universities and centers in order to become physicians, consultants, and researchers possessing medical and research skills.
  1. Clinical field training in actual work settings, which qualifies them and enhances their skills to apply what they have learned for serving patients and society.
  1. Maintaining medically and professionally competent cadres and working on their professional development to meet society’s needs.
  1. Providing preventive and therapeutic services, and medical support through the seasons of hajj and umrah pilgrimage by distinguished physicians and students.

The activities and programs of the College were not to exist but for the success granted by God first, and second the generous care given to the University by our leaders – may God grant them guidance – as well as the continuous support provided by His Excellency the Minister of Education. This is in addition to the constant backing and tireless encouragement offered by His Excellency the President of the University, which has contributed to the success of the College’s educational and training programs.

Finally, I ask God the Almighty to guide us to the good and to crown the efforts of us all with success.

Dean of the College of Medicine

Dr. Emad bin Ali Al-Jahdali
