General Overview of the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Program
The mission of the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program at Umm Al-Qura University involves: providing medical education of the highest quality in accordance with national and international standards, in order to develop the capabilities of doctors to meet health needs within Makkah in particular and in the Saudi society in general; preparing students for graduate training in order to expand their competencies; supporting scientific research.
Therefore, the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program is designed to comply with the orientations of the SaudiMed Framework which was approved by the Ministry of Education in January 2015. The SaudiMED Framework is interested in teaching medicine based on the basics shown in the following diagram, to equip medical students with the necessary prerequisites for their future career as doctors.
