It is a place assigned by the university for the non-Saudi student that is accepted to study at the Institute of Arabic Language for non-Native Speakers, or undergraduate or postgraduate ones, in addition to giving them the approved financial benefits.
Learning the Arabic language, the language with which Quran has been revealed and acquiring knowledge on the Sharia rules and sound creed. Thus, the student return after being qualified to call for the true religion. Additionally, he acquires knowledge on practical, social and scientific disciplines in accordance with the instructions reported to the university.
The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia grants scholarships to non-Saudis to study in Saudi universities. The government scholarships are of two types: 1) Internal grants for non-Saudi students residing in the Kingdom. 2) External grants for non-Saudi students from outside the Kingdom.
Scholarships at Saudi universities are divided into three categories in regard of their various privileges: 1) Free scholarships where the student obtains all privileges. 2) Partial scholarships where the student obtain some privileges, and the educational institution has the right to offer some privileges to the student such as a seat only, or a seat and accommodation. Thus, it is less privileged than the free scholarship. 3) Paid scholarships where a donating entity other than the University endures the costs. All the aforementioned shall be accomplished in accordance with the regulations set by the Educational Institution Council without and in way non-contradicting the governing controls.
The student shall submit a request to be accepted at the University at the dates dedicated for acceptance for each university grade and which is announced in the calendar of UQU.
