The College of Applied Sciences is one of the first colleges which were established in Umm Al-Qura University and the most sacred sites. Its considered the first pillar from which various colleges of the university emerged. Since its establishment, the college started to craft its bright future, reaping fruits of hard work and a sincere desire to do what is the best to reach the highest standards of scientific progress and quality in its various scientific and academic aspects. Such a matter could not have been achieved without the unlimited support of the rulers of this country (may Allah grant them success) and their keenness in providing a better future for the sons of this honorable country in all fields of science on which the civilizations of nations and countries are based, in its different scientific specializations and fields.

The college includes four important academic specializations characterized by a high level of excellence, in light of the fact that the basic sciences are the first pillar through which all other branches of science develop. The bachelor's degree is awarded in all the college's specializations, in addition to master’s and PhD degrees in all its academic departments. The college, in participation with all the departments, works continuously to review all current academic specializations and programs, in line with academic accreditation programs, in order to upgrade the level of its quality and raise its academic outcomes. It also works in developing all that is new to keep pace with the development process and the community needs for quality scientific specializations required by the labor market, in a manner compatible with the Saudi Vision and the aspirations of the wise leadership (may Allah protect them).

It is noteworthy that the college attaches considerable concern to scientific research, which is considered the base of all science colleges at the local, regional and international level. It is aware of the significance of finding best methods and advanced technologies to upgrade the quality and excellence of its scientific production compared to other colleges, and encouraging scientific innovations and patents to effectively contribute to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030, which will definitely contribute to economic, scientific and knowledge development.

The college always aspires and will forever aspire to be managed and developed with the participation of all its affiliates, depending on innovative thinking and the creative spirit, and recognizing the importance of the steady changes in all scientific specializations and scientific research. Outstanding ideas are always welcomed by the college, as these contribute to the continuous development of its future strategy and vision, its management, along with its scientific cadres and infrastructure, in order to create an integrated educational environment including the latest laboratories and technologies to serve its academic staff members and students alike.
