The College of Applied Sciences, represented by the Student Council, on Thursday evening, 5 Sha`ban 1442 A.H., held the first session within the program "Dialogue Sessions in Science". The program is a series of virtual meetings between the students and the academic staff members to discuss various topics in science, some interesting theories, and interesting issues, exchanging views about them with the students involved in the dialogue using audio posts and text messages to make the meetings more interactive.
The first dialogue session was entitled, "The Miraculous Number Pi", and was hosted by Dr. Doaa Basalamah and Dr. Taghreed Asiri from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the college. They enriched the meeting with their interesting talk about the origins and history of the number Pi, ways of calculating it, and its applications in various areas of life.
The dialogue was moderated by the President of the Student Council in the female section, the student Maha Al-Aqeel, in the presence of His Excellency the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Prof. Wael Al-Amoudi, His Excellency the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ismail Al-Thaqafi, and Her Excellency the Vice Dean for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Tahani Bawazeer.
The dialogue session witnessed a distinguished presence of academic staff members and students, in which the attendees were allowed to ask questions and take part in discussions.
At the end of the session, Dr. Tahani Bawazeer extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to the session guests for their active participation in the program. She also thanked the coordinator, Ms. Esraa Obaid, for her efforts in organizing the event. Finally, another meeting was scheduled for next week for the second dialogue session, Allah willing.
