The College of Applied Sciences held a course on the Electronic Services Offered by King Abdullah Library at Umm Al-Qura University, for the college male and female students on Monday, 23 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1442 A.H. The course was presented by Mr. Abdullah Al-Sulaimani, Supervisor of E-Services at King Abdullah Library.
Dr. Ismael Al-Thaqfi, Vice Dean of the College of Applied Sciences for Educational Affairs, launched the course by welcoming the students and thanking them for their attendance and interaction with the different activities organized by the college.
At the beginning of the course, Mr. Abdullah Al-Sulaimani presented the themes that would be covered, in which he highlighted how to enter the library website as well as the type of services offered by the library. He also explained how to search the indexes, search for different books and topics, and to use the global search engines provided by the library and scientific journals of the major international publishing houses.
He clarified the importance of the services offered by the library in enriching the educational process and helping students in achieving high level educational performances.
The course had a good turnout, and the participating students were given the chance to put questions about the topics that were discussed.
Concluding the course, Dr. Ismael Al-Thaqfi extended his thanks and appreciation to the course presenter and praised the fruitful cooperation between the college and the Deanship of Library Affairs in the services for the students. He also thanked the Student Affairs Unit at the College for the various activities that contribute to enriching knowledge and training for the students. Finally, he thanked the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Hatem Al-Tass, for his continuous support of all the college activities.
