The College of Applied Sciences held a remote celebration on the occasion of the 90th Saudi National Day on Monday 11 Safar, 1442 A.H. at 8 p.m. in the presence of His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Hatem Muhammad Al-Tas. At the beginning of the ceremony, the royal anthem was played, followed by Qur'anic recitation. This was followed by the opening speech of the ceremony, in which His Excellency the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ismail Ibrahim Al-Thaqafi, stated that on this occasion that is dear to our hearts, we recall the unifier of this homeland, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (may he rest in peace). He was the founder king who laid the foundations of justice, established the true religion, and ruled on the basis of the Qur'an, the Book of the Lord of the Worlds. His Majesty was succeeded by some extraordinary men who followed the path of glory and carved eternal exploits in history.
Dr. Al-Thaqafi stated that the celebration of the College of Applied Sciences this year comes within the college’s program to celebrate the 90th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The program included many activities aimed at contributing to share the joy of this occasion. He mentioned some of these activities, as follows:

Next, Her Excellency Dr. Tahani Muhammad Bawazir, Vice Dean of the College for Female Students, made a speech on behalf of the staff of the College of Applied Sciences on the occasion of the 90th National Day, in which she expressed pride in the great achievements and praiseworthy efforts, which laid the foundation for a powerful state promising a prosperous present and brilliant future.
Her Excellency added that the country has witnessed continuous prosperity throughout its generations in the field of construction and political, economic and scientific achievements. In addition, unprecedented achievements have been made in the framework of empowering women in various fields, granting women full rights, and the many steps taken in order to acknowledge the role of Saudi women locally and internationally.
Then, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Khalil Munjid spoke about the most important achievements during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and the nation's achievements and successes on all educational, health and economic levels. Then, His Excellency Dr. Abdul-Wali Muhammad Al-Ajlouni presented an initiative to train 90 male and female students and qualify them with different skills.
The ceremony ended with a speech delivered by His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Hatem Muhammad Al-Tas, who mentioned that the annual anniversary of the National Day is reminscient of the unity of this country at the hands of its founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (may he rest in peace), as well as the current achievements and prosperity.
He also presented some of the college's achievements during the last period, and the great role played in maintaining the quality of the academic and administrative process during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, and the rapid digital transformation in various electronic transactions.
His Excellency also thanked the organizers of this celebration and the work team of the Student Affairs Unit of the College Vice Deanship for Educational Affairs.
At the end of the ceremony, prize winners of the contest on the occasion of the 90th National Day were announced, and a random drawing was made of gifts provided by the college for the attendees.
