The College of Applied Sciences has completed all preparations and precautionary measures during these exceptional circumstances to receive male and female students in the scientific laboratories, starting next week on Sunday, 3 Safar 1442 A.H.
His Excellency the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Hatim Muhammad Al-Tas, explained that the college has intensified the spread of awareness among the college students by giving them courses on security and safety in scientific laboratories, in addition to publishing the precautionary measures manual in the college, which was circulated earlier this week. He also expressed his appreciation for the unlimited support provided by the university administration to maintain the safety of all male and female students.
His Excellency explained that the college has prepared special entry gates for each department to prevent crowding among students. The college has also set up screening points to measure the students' temperature before they enter the scientific laboratories, in order to ensure the safety of our students.
The implementation of all precautionary measures was supervised by the College Safety Committee, headed by His Excellency the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Luai Al-Kazhimi, who, in turn, pointed out that the committee has ensured that the laboratories are ready to perform the practical experiments, and that the follow-up to implement all instructions will be carried out continuously during the college day.
On his part, the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Ismail Al-Thaqafi, explained that the students had been divided into groups according to the capacity of the laboratory, with the aim of achieving social distancing between them. He also stressed the importance of maintaining the quality of the educational process to ensure that the learning outcomes are not affected by the practical decisions, and to make the best use of all capabilities in the labs or via the distance learning system.
Her Excellency the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Tahani Bawazir, has supervised the preparation of the college's laboratories in Al-Zahir Campus, according to the precautionary measures, in preparation for receiving the students at the headquarters to attend practical courses, making sure that the procedures are met for the students' safety, while maintaining social distancing and avoiding any crowding.
These preparations come within the framework of the care provided by the College of Applied Sciences for the safety of its male and female students, staff members, and technicians, and in line with the regulations practiced during these exceptional circumstances.
