In collaboration between the College of Applied Sciences and the College of Community Service and Continuing Education, the College of Applied Sciences held an introductory meeting for the new students for this academic year 1442 A.H., on Thursday, 29 Muharram, 1442 A.H., at 11:00 a.m., via the WebEx program.
The meeting was presented by His Excellency Dr. Ismail bin Ibrahim Al-Thaqafi, the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs and Supervisor of the Qualifying Year Program at the College (male section). In the meeting, His Excellency addressed many important topics for the new students, bearing in mind the challenges of the new university experience they are embarking on. These topics included:
His Excellency also explained the importance of this semester for the new university student, as a starting point towards excellence and success. Proper scientific methods of facing academic difficulties and how to overcome them were also discussed, as well as how to keep good contact with academic staff members and the assigned academic advisor.
The students then had the opportunity to ask questions and inquiries, and listen to the answers.
His Excellency concluded the meeting by urging the students to strive hard and spread an optimistic spirit, wishing them a successful academic year.
These meetings come within a series of meetings provided by the college to raise the level of knowledge and culture for the male and female students in order to enable them to achieve their aspirations at the university level.
