The UQU College of Medicine organized a preparation course for the final clinical exam of the Saudi fellowship in internal medicine. The course was held on Friday and Saturday, 29–30 November, 2019 A.C., at the skills and simulation center at the college.
The course activities during the first day included intensive workshops which discussed the cases and diseases in the different internal medicine specialties, and how to diagnose and treat them. On the second day, a clinical experimental exam was held for the trainees to prepare them for the final exam, highlight their points of weaknesses and strengths, and explain how to improve their weaknesses.
The course was attended by about 45 male and female physicians from those who have applied for the final exam in the different programs of the internal medicine fellowship, from various cities of the Saudi Kingdom. Dr. Ashraf Warsi, the Vice Dean of the College of Medicine for Hospitals Affairs at Umm Al-Qura University, extended his sincere thanks to Dr. Adib bin Ahmad bin Muhammad Balkhi, the Head of the Internal Medicine Department, and the scientific team in the department, led by Dr. Walid Hafiz and Dr. Jihad Maqlan, for the outstanding scientific effort they exerted in the course, and also for the excellent relationships of the department with the different health sectors in the region.
Her Excellency the Head of the Department of Medical Education in the college and supervisor and coordinator of the assessment mechanism in this course, Dr. Rania Zaini, said such programs are the first fruit of consecutive activities recently coordinated by the college. The clear strategic objectives of these activities are to foster the college's relationships with the different health sectors, and contribute to raising the skills and efficiency of the resident doctors and the medical students alike.
