The College of Applied Medical Sciences, represented by the Department of Biology, held an event entitled: “Let's Make Our Planet Clean”. This awareness event took place on Monday, 21 Rabi` Al-Awwal 1441 A.H., and aimed at educating the students about major harmful acts that cause environmental pollution. It also provided tips and guidance about how to avoid such behavior, and how to replace bad habits with other habits that can preserve the environment.
Among the most important topics discussed during the activity were the usefulness of recycling plastic and paper products, and the promotion of the awareness of the harmful effects caused by the excessive use of air fresheners and household cleaning products, encouraging to substitute them with sanitary materials. This is due to their adverse health effects. The attendees were also informed about how to safely dispose of batteries, and advised to substitute non-renewable energy with renewable energy, such as solar and wind energy.
In conclusion, Her Excellency the Vice Dean of the College thanked the department for their efforts in organizing this awareness event that contributed to improving the society and creating a community environment that is free from negative habits.
