On Tuesday, Muharram 17, 1438H, the Deanship for E-Learning held the first meeting for its certified trainers at King Abdulaziz secondary hall in Al-Abidiyah. The meeting was organized under the supervision of the Dean of E-Learning, Dr. Abdulkhaleq Dualah, and the attendance of the Vice-deans, Dr. Hatem Natou and Dr. Khaled Al-Mutiri, as well as colleges and institutes representatives.
After initiating the meeting with Qur’anic recitation, Dr. Dualah declared that the Deanship for E-Learning has developed a number of future programs with the aim of further promoting the culture of E-Learning among the students, and having the entire faculty members participating in and benefiting from this educational system. In addition, he confirmed that this program that is being organized under the sponsorship of the UQU Deanship for Educational Affairs seeks to train a representative, or more, from the faculty members of each college to become accredited by the Deanship for E-Learning, and, hence, qualified to deliver courses whether to the students or to the faculty members of his college.
Besides, Dr. Dualah added that the program includes a series of comprehensive, interactive activities after which the trainee would receive 2 certificates: a Certified E-Learning Trainer certificate from the Deanship of E-Learning, and a Certified System Trainer certificate from Naseej Company. He also mentioned that the same program would be implemented on girls’ campus, during the upcoming days.
On his part, Dr. Natou made a presentation on the Deanship, and its mission and objectives, while pointing out to its main achievements in numbers, over the past period. Following, Engineer Ahmed Al-Husseini gave a speech on the importance of the trainees’ role after the completion of the training phases, and specified the eligibility criteria of the participants. Further, he stated that the program consists of 2 phases; in first of which the trainee is expected to:
1- Attend the 2-day training course of the Deanship for E-Learning, and receive its certificate.
2- Apply E-Learning with the students of the current year.
3- Deliver 2 courses to the faculty members (one/semester).
4- Deliver 4 courses to the students (two/semester)
As for the second phase, the trainee is expected to attend the Certified Trainer Course (Specialized Workshops and A Practical Training) over 3-4 days. However, he noted that the trainee is not allowed to participate in the second phase unless he has successfully completed the first phase.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting was distinguished by the large number of attendees and their fruitful participation through many inquiries about the state of E-Learning at the university and the role of the certified trainer. They also expressed their gratitude for the trust they received from their institutions and the Deanship, and promised to perform their roles excellently.
As the meeting drew to an end, Dr. Dualah extended his thanks to the UQU President, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas for his continuous support for the programs of the Deanship, and his care for activating E-Learning at the university. He also extended his gratitude to Dr. Abdulaziz bin Rashad Surouji who follows up attentively, and works so hard to ensure the success of the programs and activities of the deanship.
