The Department of Public Health, on Tuesday 27 March 2018, corresponding to 10 Ragab 1439 AH, held a training course for the students of Health Sciences College in Al-lith, under the title: "Basics of Fighting Infection", within the series of culture events and courses that are presented by the department.
The course included scientific concepts about the hospitals' infections, how they are transmitted and how to control them; in addition to explaining the ways, cautions, and policies necessary to prevent it. Also, it included the training on some ways of fighting infections, such as washing hands, taking off gloves, and using the personal protection tools.
Both of Mohammed Ahmed Fouad, assistant professor of microbiology and immunology, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamdi Simsa'a, assistant professor of community medicine, gave the course.
Dr. Faleh bin Saud Al-Yazidi, head of Public Health Department, said that this course is within a series of courses that are organized by the department to promote the scientific and cultural level of students. Before this course, there was a lecture on the infectious diseases during the Hajj (pilgrimage), and it will be followed- with Allah's willing- by numerous events that aim at making students gain several skills that go beyond the content of the course and focus on the practical side that every graduate needs to join the labor market.
These courses are in line with the Saudi vision 2030, and to promote the students’ level of knowledge in order to provide them with the health education around the problems of the region; including epidemics and the like.
