On Wednesday, 17 Muharram 1443 A.H., the College of Applied Sciences held the "Safety in Science Laboratories" Course within the "New Students Forum" at the college for the academic year 1443 A.H. The course was presented by a constellation of the college's academic staff members and covered several themes about security and safety in sciences laboratories. Dr. Abdul-Wali Al-Ajlouni presented a lecture about all matters relevant to security and safety in general and explained to the male and female students the importance of working in a secure environment during their academic journey in the university. Moreover, he listed the procedures that must be taken into consideration by students, especially during these exceptional conditions.
On her part, Dr. Mariam Thabit tackled the issue of safety in the biology laboratories and what students should adhere to while performing practical experiments. She also explained the importance of responding to the instructions of the academic staff members inside the laboratory. After that, Dr. Mona Al-Hasani covered the issues of safety inside chemistry labs as well as the effects of various chemicals and the proper scientific methods to deal with them.
The course, which witnessed a distinguished attendance of all the new students of the college, came within a series of courses offered by the college to raise the level and skills of the students in various fields.
