The Deanship of University Development and Quality is working under the direct supervision of the University Vice Presidency for Academic Development and Community Service as one of its support deanships. Below are the tasks of the Deanship:
- To represent Umm Al-Qura University before the third parties who have works of similar nature through the Vice Presidency of Academic Development and Community Service.
- To disseminate culture of academic accreditation and educational quality assurance at the level of the academic units, support deanships and public departments.
- To build and integrated system for the Institutional & Programmatic (I&P) Assessment inside Umm Al-Qura University in accordance with the requirements of the National Commission for Academic Assessment and Accreditation.
- To provide technical support for all the academic units, support deanships and public departments in line with their requirements.
- To oversee university activities related to quality assurance and the national and international academic accreditation.
- To oversee all works of the units and departments linked to it.
- To coordinate at the internal level between the works of the academic units, support deanships, and public departments from one hand, and their counterparts in the other educational institutions in the field of quality assurance and academic accreditation, from the other hand.
- To contribute to the continuing strategic planning of Umm Al-Qura university.
- To ensure quality if education and learning in such manner which achieves educational objectives in line with the requirements of the National Commission for Academic accreditation and Assessment and the national framework of qualifications in the Kingdom.
- To build capacities of the teaching staff and employees of the university in the fields of quality assurance, academic accreditation and strategic planning an assessment.
