The program aims to consolidate the scientific and research approach in civil engineering among the engineers and professionals. This is to achieve the aspirations of the Saudi society in accordance with the Saudi Vision 2030 and modern developed scientific standards.

This will be achieved through the following objectives:

• Developing scientific research and using modern technologies and creativity in civil engineering to find effective solutions to engineering problems in civil engineering.

• Enabling outstanding students with university degrees to continue their postgraduate studies locally.

• Achieving integration and continuity between undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

• Studying engineering problems in civil engineering and finding appropriate sustainable solutions in Makkah and the Holy Places in particular and Saudi Arabia in general.

• Opening channels communication between UQU and research centers, other universities, private sector institutions and industry to adopt and support scientific research in the domain of civil engineering.

• Developing and graduating new experts through the transfer of technology and application of scientific research results in the development of the governmental, private and industrial sectors. This is by holding conferences and workshops in specialized domains for the development of human resources in the governmental, industrial and private sectors.

 

Providing graduates with research and professional skills to meet the requirements of labor market in line with the latest global developments and the Saudi Vision 2030.

Due to the great expansion of the mechanical engineer’s role in the great scientific development that reached a wide range in modern society, the significance of its scientific and research status in various domains, the dependence of the industrial institutions of the private sector and governmental bodies on the experiences of mechanical departments’ graduates, as well as the need to keep pace with the successive scientific and technological developments,

The Master’s Program of Mechanical Engineering aims at:

• Developing, expanding, and disseminating scientific research in mechanical engineering, while encouraging outstanding scientific competencies to practice scientific activity and prove themselves in this domain.

• Finding opportunities for in-depth scientific studies in mechanical engineering. This is in order to achieve innovative scientific and applied additions and discover new facts that contribute to finding field solutions to address the various problems in this domain.

• Enabling distinguished university graduates to pursue their postgraduate studies locally.

• Preparing specialized scientific competencies in mechanical engineering, and qualifying them highly through a program of advanced scientific level. This renders them excellent engineering cadres capable of innovation and creativity to serve the nation.

• Achieving continuity and integration between undergraduate and postgraduate programs, in line with the continuous improvement of students' academic achievement, and satisfying the needs and requirements of in-depth scientific research.

• Opening communication channels between UQU and private sector institutions to adopt and support research projects related to industrial problems.

• Qualifying students to the PhD in the future.

The program is based on scientific strength and professional development of postgraduate students. It also focuses on theoretical and practical aspects in the domains of mechanical engineering. Moreover, it provides qualified human resources to serve the nation in finding effective engineering solutions in the various domains of daily life.

  • Preparing a generation of architects and planners who are aware of the teachings of Islamic law and its relationship with the urban environment. This generation is responsible for the design and formation of cities and buildings.
  • Raising the level of practicing architecture and urbanization in Islamic countries. This is by adopting and reviving the call to apply the principles, objectives and concepts of Islamic architecture.
  • Adopting and supporting research, writing and translation in relation to such great Islamic heritage.
  • Developing scientific research in the domain of Islamic architecture.
  • Preparing a local academic environment to enable graduates to pursue their postgraduate studies locally and to localize modern knowledge and techniques related to Muslim architecture.
  • Providing staff members with the opportunity to practice their research role and transfer their practical experience to future generations.
  • Supporting the development efforts within the local community by opening communication channels between UQU and private sector institutions.

The program offers a generation of architects and urbanists who are aware of the teachings of Islamic law and provisions within a wide range of disciplines in the public and private labor market.

Such disciplines include the following:

• Practitioners of architectural design of Islamic-style buildings and establishments in terms of patterns, items and design philosophy.

• Specialists in the design of special-style buildings such as health, educational, administrative and other buildings needed by the Muslim community. This is within the framework of Islamic principles and guidelines.

• Designers and housing planners who are specialized in all related issues in all developmental, economic, social, environmental, architectural and urban domains.

• Urban designers and coordinators of the external environment of the city's public spaces. They are aware of the requirements of such spaces’ local and legitimate culture.

• Environmental design specialists for buildings in terms of suitability, homogeneity with natural environment and sustainability.

• City planners and developers who are aware of the Islamic city problems and working mechanisms without prejudice to its Islamic identity and components.
