The Department of Mathematical Sciences held a scientific meeting about the “solar pond” on Wednesday 16-6-1438H.
The meeting, which was presented by Dr Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, came as part of scientific lectures organized by the College of Applied Sciences.
The meeting was attended by Dean of Applied Sciences College Dr Walid bin Jamal Altif, his deputy-deans and a number of members of the teaching staff in Abidya as well as female members of the teaching staff in Al-Zaher and Azizyah.
Dr Abdullah discussed the issue of “solar pond”, which is an applied reserach in the mathematical sciences and aims to make use of the solar energy in numerous applications such as heating, water desalination and electricity.
Following the meeting, the participants and lecturer engaged in a scienfic discussion about the issue.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr Abdullah was honored by the dean of the Applied Sciences College and he was given a thank-you certificate for his participation in the scientific meeting.
