The Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education proceeded in the implementation of the distance education plan, within the emergency activation of UQU's precaution plan, immediately after the Ministry of Education had announced the suspension of study. Meanwhile, the readiness of the technical support of the systems used in the university has been increased, and the training guides have been circulated to the affiliates and students (males and females) of the university in all its branches. The number of the students using the learning environment amounted to 40 thousand and 284 students in the first 24 hours of the plan. Moreover, the number of the academic staff activating the system amounted to 2033. In addition, a schedule was approved for holding daily training courses for the university's academic staff, and a course schedule for the leaders, administrators, and students was also approved. This in addition to the provision of technical support via mobiles, WhatsApp, e-mail and electronic tickets, to answer the inquiries of the academic staff and students. The measures of the plan were announced through the different means of communication of the deanship, besides cooperation with the media center and the university's official account on Twitter.
It is worth mentioning that the deanship has allocated a WhatsApp number to receive inquiries, the number of beneficiaries of the WhatsApp reaching 290 affiliates and students during the first day. Additionally, 6 direct interviews were conducted for some cases that required direct support, as well as the activation of other means of communication, such as electronic tickets, e-mails, and phone calls.
Moreover, the deanships and the administration of the university have benefited from the virtual meetings that were conducted, with the attendees of such meetings amounting to 721 individuals during the first day of implementation of the plan.
The technical support of the services of the deanship continued from 8.00 a.m. till 11.00 p.m.
