The College of Medicine (female section) launched the activities of the International Infection Prevention Week from 16 to 22 October, at the headquarters of the college. The event was held under the slogan "Vaccines are everybody's business", with the participation of the college staff and students.
The college vice dean inspected the awareness corner prepared for the event, and blessed this event, which reflects the educational and preventive advisory role carried out by the College of Medicine. In addition, she stressed the importance of actively participating in awareness-raising activities that will promote health awareness among all segments of society.
The college vice dean said that the college performs its educational and awareness-raising role through educating the community to prevent infection by taking vaccines. This is in order to raise the quality of life by providing awareness-raising and educational messages, and participating in world health awareness days.
Her Excellency Dr. Sumayyah bint Hashim Hariri, Assistant Professor at the Department of Microorganisms and Vice Dean of Postgraduate Studies for Development, delivered a lecture entitled "Promotion of Infection Prevention and Control Practices." She explained the ways of getting an infection and how to protect oneself from it, and clarified the methods of treatment in case of suffering from an infection (Allah forbid).
