The College of Applied Sciences, represented by the Department of Chemistry, held an event entitled: ‘Towards Building an Integrated Environmental Generation’. The event was held under the supervision of Her Excellency Dr. Enas Al-Juhani and Her Excellency Dr. Marwa Al-Ghalban.

The event was held on Thursday 1 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1441 A.H. and was attended by Her Excellency Vice Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, and a number of female academic staff members, employees and students.

The event tackled different environmental topics aimed at raising awareness of different categories of society concerning the most serious environmental hazards in the current time.

The event included a series of themes and corners that could be checked through the below link:

The first theme: environmental initiatives aiming at upgrading the environment from various aspects.

The second theme: awareness programs aiming at raising awareness among the different categories of the society to preserve the environment through practicing positive behavior as a lifestyle.

The third theme: scientific research discussing the impact of some serious environmental pollutants and suggesting scientific solutions through chemistry.

As for corners, they focused on highlighting reasons of pollutants and their goal; to reduce pollution of all kinds.

The corners are as follows:

  • Future air and light pollution, as well as raising efficiency of waste management through an awareness video.
  • Combating desertification by explaining importance of agriculture through stressing on a pillar entitled: ‘We Have to Plant It’.
  • A corner entitled: ‘Global warming and its impact on the green environment’.
  • Reserving water resources under a corner entitled: 'Towards Sustainable Water Resources'.
  • The event also tackled the importance of recycling through a corner entitled: 'Another Life'.

In conclusion, the Vice Dean of the College of Applied Sciences thanked the Department Members for the efforts exerted to organize the event that would promote the society and create an integrated community environment in the future.
