The first meeting of the female nominees for the Accredited Trainer Plan at the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education was organized on Monday 5th December 2016 (6th RabieI 1438H) at the meeting room of the Deanship, Al-Zahir Campus. The event was supervised by Dr. Hanaa Al-Yamani, Vice Dean for E-Learning and Distance Education-Female Section.

After beginning the meeting, Dr. Al-Yamani noted that the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education had prepared many future programs with the aim of spreading the e-learning culture among male and female students, and engaging all staff members in such educational system to their benefit.  She asserted that such program, which is supported by UQU Vice-Deanship for Educational Affairs, aimed at training one, or more, female staff-member nominee from every college to be accredited by the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, and to be prepared for giving courses either to students or teachers at the Female Section.

Dr. Al-Yamani also stressed that the program included a series of intensive interactive activities which would be concluded with two different certificates: 1- Accredited Female Trainer of E-Learning Certificate from the Deanship; 2- Accredited Female System Trainer handed by Naseej Company. Besides, she added that it had been a long time since the Male Section had completed the same program. She explained to the participants the significance of the role they would play when they pass all the training phases. She demonstrated the required qualifications of the female staff member, in addition to the privileges she would obtain. The program comprises two phases. The first phase is the attendance of the E-Learning Deanship’s courses by the nominees (two training days), acquisition of certificates, application of E-Learning with the current-year students, and presentation of training courses to the College’s staff members and female students. However, the second phase may be participated in only when the participant fully completed the first phase; such phase is the attendance of the Accredited Female Trainer Preparation Course (specialized workshops and practical training for 3-4 days).

The meeting was characterized by the large number of the female interested attendees and participants who had many queries about the situation of E-Learning at UQU, as well as the missions of the accredited female trainer. They also expressed their gratitude for the trust they were given by their institutions and the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education. Finally, they confirmed that they would do their utmost in playing their role.
