College of Public Health Holds Educative Meeting for Its Members to Prepare for the Visit of the Institutional Accreditation Team

Within the framework of the periodical development meetings for academic staff members of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, the Fifth Developmental Activity was held on Tuesday, 26 Rajab, 1440 A.H., corresponding to 2 April, 2019 A.C. His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Ahmad Omar Babalghaith, Their Excellencies the vice deans, heads of the academic departments, and the academic staff members attended the activity.

The activity included an explanation presented by the Quality Unit at the Vice Deanship of the College for Development and Entrepreneurship concerning the preparations for the visit of the international reviewers for institutional accreditation in the first week of Sha`ban, 1440 A.H.

The meeting began by reviewing the steps that were taken to fulfill the requirements of institutional accreditation by His Excellency the supervisor of the Quality Unit at the vice deanship, Dr. Muhammad Kamal Husain. These steps included updating the vision, mission, and the values of the college, which were derived from those of the university. It also dealt with the completion of the self-study report, and the safety and evacuation plan, the preparation of the infrastructure by checking the buildings and facilities of the college to make sure they meet the requirements, and the submission of a report including the shortcomings and the required improvements.

Moreover, they completed the educational courses files, and checked the suitability of the services offered by the college to its students, the office hours for academic staff members, and the supplies and the services of the Graduate Unit.

The Vice Dean of the College for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Muhannad bin Marwan Qarub, gave a detailed presentation about the visit of the institutional accreditation team, the merits of the visit, the preparations undertaken by the college to prepare for the event, and how the academic staff, affiliates and students have prepared for the meeting with the accreditation team.

On his part, the Dean of the College offered recommendations and directions to the attendees concerning the preparation for this important event, and making use of university leaders' recommendations and the experiences of other colleges in rendering this mission successful, and getting the institutional accreditation for the university and its institutions.
