The College of Applied Sciences Holds an Event under the Title: 'A College Free of Wastes'

On the occasion of the environmental enrichment week, under the slogan, "We Protect Our Environment for the Welfare of Our Community", the College of Applied Sciences held an event on Wednesday, 2 Rajab, 1440 A.H., under the title, "A College Free of Wastes". More than 100 students participated in the event.

His Excellency the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Hatim bin Muhammad Al-Tas, inaugurated the event by addressing a guiding speech to the students of the college. Next, the Environmental Activist, His Excellency Dr. Fahd Turkistani, addressed a guiding speech including the environmental slogan, "We Are the Generation for the Environment". The students were then distributed into three groups, under the direction of the event's supervisor, Dr.Fahd Al-Hashimi, with the participating students wearing unique orange jackets, green caps, as well as gloves and masks for protection from pollution. The students collected and sorted the wastes inside the college for 30 minutes, with the quantity of wastes collected by students amounting to more than 12 garbage bags. At the end, students concluded the event by shouting the slogan, "We Are the Generation for the Environment".

Finally, the Dean of the College expressed sincere thanks to His Excellency UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, for the great support he provides to all the students' activities to enhance the capabilities of the students in servicing the community.
