The Biology Department at the College of Applied Sciences Holds an Event Entitled: ‘Sustainable Green Environment’

On Thursday, 14 Rajab, 1440 A.H., an event entitled, "Sustainable Green Environment", was held. The event took place under the patronage of Dr. Raja' Ma`tuq, the Vice Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, in the presence of Dr. Adhari Falimban, the Deputy Head of the Biology Department, under the supervision of Dr. Hanan Al-Sayyid Uthman, and the participation of the female students of the course, "Plant Environment".

The purpose of the event was to educate the students about how to preserve the environment, and inform them about the economic importance of many plants. The event also aimed at raising their awareness about the phenomenon of climate change and its adverse effects, identifying the diseases that the plants are exposed to, and finding alternative solutions for these two problems.

The activity was enriched by a number of segments presented by a group of female students, educating the audience about some aromatic plants and their benefits, and also informing that about plants used for decoration, beautification and medicine. There were also presentations educating students of the plants mentioned in the Noble Qur'an, along with other benefit to students. This event comes to fulfill a vision of a future green environment that pleases the beholders, Allah willing.
