Department of Biology at the College of Applied Sciences Holds a Workshop Entitled: 'Basics of Mummification'

The Department of Biology at the College of Applied Sciences held a workshop entitled, 'Basics of Mummification', within the 'Biology Program', which was held in coordination with the Vice Deanship for Development and Community Service. This workshop was offered by His Excellency Mr. Muhammad bin Jamil Nahhas, a laboratory technician at the Department of Biology and a specialist in mummification. The workshop, which was held in the biology laboratories, lasted three days, for two hours per day, that is, a total of 6 hours, and was attended by 14 students from the department. The workshop aimed at endorsing their laboratory abilities and informing them of the basics of mummification.

The Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Hatim Al-Tas, praised the great efforts exerted by the Vice Deanship for Development and Community Service and the Department of Biology to develop the students' skills and improve the educational outcomes of the college. He pointed out that this step stresses the college endeavor to confirm its research and academic mission as well as its community responsibility, which goes in line with the orientation of the Ministry of Education, to promote its educational outcomes. He also added that this helps in providing opportunities for the graduates of the college according to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in order for them to serve the nation and community.

At the end of the workshop, the Dean of the College, Dr. Hatim Al-Tas, and the Vice Dean of the College for Development and Community Service, Dr. Fahd Al-Hashimi, listened to a detailed explanation given by the presenter of the workshop about the workshop and the practical application that was offered of mummifying a fish. Finally, organizers of the workshop received appreciation certificates for the efforts they exerted, and the participating students received attendance certificates.
