Within the framework of collaboration with the Department of Health Education at King Faisal Hospital in the Holy Capital (Makkah), the College of Public Health and Health Informatics organized an awareness campaign entitled, "The Prevention of Blood Clots". The event, with the participation of the college students, lasted for two days, Wednesday 24 Jumada Al-Awwal and Thursday 25 Jumada Al-Awwal 1440 A.H.

The campaign aimed at raising awareness about blood clots, and their association with major risk factors, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and smoking. These factors, in turn, cause a narrowing of the blood vessels and can lead to serious complications, like deep vein (or venous) thrombosis.

The event was intensive and involved the outpatient and emergency departments, and targeted hospitalized patients and outpatients. Part of the campaign involved the distribution of awareness leaflets about blood clots.

The campaign was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Laila Sulaiman, Dr. Iman Abu Sair, and Dr. Nazik Mubarak.
