The College of Public Health and Health Informatics held an introductory meeting for all the students in the fourth year in the different departments, to prepare them for the internship year and the post-graduation stage. The meeting was held in Prince Faisal bin Fahd Hall at the University Headquarters in Al-Aziziyyah, on Tuesday, 23 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H.
The introductory meeting started with a recitation of the Noble Qur'an, which was followed with a speech delivered by Mr. Talhah Hawsawi, the Supervisor of Training and Scholarship Administration at the Directorate of Health Affairs in Makkah, in which he defined some required regulations that the trainee should abide by during the training period (Internship Year). The graduate committee member, His Excellency Dr. Ramadan Badran, gave a brief account about the goals and some of the achievements of the Graduate Unit in the past period.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmad bin Omar Babalghaith, the Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, gave a speech in which he tackled the importance of this stage in the student's practical life, and its effects on his practical and scientific maturity. Moreover, he urged students to adopt the values of diligence, perseverance and punctuality, to make use of this important stage.
Next, His Excellency Dr. Ubaidullah Al-Lahyani gave a speech on the optimal way to apply for posts. He talked about the vision of the Kingdom 2030, employment chances, sites that help people apply for jobs, and how to be successful in interviews.
Then, the Supervisor of the Vice Deanship for Hospital Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Abdullah, gave a detailed speech covering all that is related to training for the students of the different departments of the college.
Finally, all attendants were given a chance to ask and discuss with supervisors and current internship year students any points they wished to know.
Guests from the Training and Scholarship Centers who participated in this meeting were honored, and attendants took photos with them.
The college staff members praised the great support of His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, toward all the sectors and colleges of the university, to achieve the vision of the Kingdom of 2030.
