On Thursday, 20 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1440 A.H., corresponding to 27 December, 2018 A.C., the first computer-based exam was given at Al-Leith University College. The exam was for the "Vocabulary Building" course in the English Language Department, and was given at the meeting room in Al-Leith University College.
The computer-based exam targeted thirty-one students, and was supervised by Mr. Ahmad Hajju, an academic member at Al-Leith University College and an approved trainer at the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education. The exam began at 8 a.m. and finished at 11 a.m. The student was allowed to leave the examination room sixty minutes after the start of the exam.
It is worth mentioning that more than one exam model was given to the students, to avoid incidents of cheating. The academic member used a password to save the exam so that the students cannot see it outside the college. The students preferred this fair method of taking and marking computer-based assessments. The exam was conducted successfully, and the students received their grades immediately after the completion of the exam.
