A Lecture on Transformation Initiative 2020 and Role of Ministry of Education

The UQU College of Public Health and Health Informatics provided a lecture under the title "Transformation Initiative 2020 & the Role of Ministry of Education",  on Monday, Moharram 1, 1438H. The lecture was delivered Dr. Ubayd Allah of Health Awareness at the College Public Health and Health Informatics.

The lecture is part of the college's strategy to educate its staff and maximize benefits of experiences in addition to learning about the latest developments of strategies, directives and government plans.

The lecture was attended by Dean of the College Dr. Wahib bin Dakhil Ullah Al Harby and Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Fadel Mohamed bin Bangar along with heads of other departments and a number of the staff members.

Dr. Allehyani delivered the lecture addressing the Kingdom's Vision 2030, a preview, implementation and the framework of achievement in addition to its three pillars: Vibrant society, thriving economy and ambitious nation

During the lecture, Dr. Allehyani explained the objectives set after careful reading of the National Transformation Program 2020 exploring the role of education ministry and institution to make the initiative real which indicates: Awareness raising and educating employees of the college about the education-related part of the National Transformation Program 2020 in addition finding a project to achieve the goals and programs objectives plus recommendations shall be given during the Vision 2030 conference planned to be held in months at Qassim University

He defined the National Transformation Program 2020 as an executive program spread out from the Saudi Vision 2030. The program gets government agencies ready to carry out its job by setting goals and benchmarks to be achieve by 2020 which shall be part of the vision. Accordingly, an initiative shall be in place and linked to performance indicators (KPI) to control the efficiency of the expected effect of the program.

Dr. Allehyani reviewed few information on the statistical initiative. According to the details, about 24 government entities took part in the first phase of the national program for transformation.  Also, total strategic goals, indicators and the target audience hit 178, 371 and 346 receptively.  It is worth mentioning that as many as 543 initiatives were launched since start of 2016.

In the context of expenses, the Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA) approved the SAR 268-billion worth initiatives to be funded from the kingdom's budget. The total costs is calculated excluding the private sector financial participation expected by the government entities.

Eventually, the attendees held talks on education, high education institution responsibilities and a suggestion to propose a paper to the conference sponsored by Qassim University. The meeting's agenda covered efforts exerted to graduate highly qualified students and follow up the after-college professional lives and the post-graduate studies in addition to the high education academic, research and publishing details. The meeting took up also the necessary mechanisms to put these suggestions into action and refresh the graduate scientific and professional groups as well as the electronic services. It covered means to enhance the effective education, the status quo analysis for conclusion and taking the necessary actions to add more three universities to the World University Rankings and having more under lower ranking.
