The health club of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics at UQU held a diabetes awareness campaign with the slogan 'Family and Diabetes'. It was organized in cooperation with the Directorate of Health Affairs in Makkah, represented by the Health Awareness Directorate, in coordination with the Preparatory Year Club. The event took place on Tuesday, 12 Rabi` Al-Awwal 1440 A.H., corresponding to 20 November 2018, in the preparatory year headquarters at Umm Al-Qura University.
The campaign included several sections, including a diabetes awareness (its symptoms and risks), diabetic foot care, diabetic first aid in the event of fatigue and loss of consciousness, and early detection of diabetes.
Thirty students from the health club took part in the campaign under the guidance of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed ibn Omar Babalgith, the Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics; His Excellency Dr. Salah Al-Din Muhammad Alawana; His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Osama Nour; and His Excellency Mr. Khalid Al-Hasani from the College of Public Health and Health Informatics.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed ibn Omar Babalgith expressed appreciation for the leading role of the health club in raising diabetes awareness in society and addressing the risks of many diseases that negatively affect the health of individuals and society.
