Within a series of scientific meetings organized by the College of Applied Sciences, under the supervision of its Acting Dean, Dr. Hatim bin Mohamed Al-Tass, the sixth scientific meeting of the Department of Physics was held for the second semester on Wednesday 18 Rajab 1439AH
Titled:
Thin Slices (Preparation - Characterization - Applications)
By Dr. Jalal Al-Nassir Al-Warfali
Associate Professor at the Physics Department
In the presence of several faculty members at the Physics Department in Al-Abideyah and from Al-Abideyah, in addition to others who were interested in the forum.
Dr. Jalal started by introducing the thin slices and how to prepare them in two different ways, which were: The chemical way and its characteristics, and the physical way and its characteristics. He also explained the elements to ensure the success of the preparation process. Afterwards, the ways to characterize the slices were presented, in terms of the structural, photovoltaic, microscopic, chemical, and electrical aspects. He also presented some applications used with thin slices in the fields of energy, gas sensors, antibacterials, and radiation sensors.
After the forum, a scientific discussion took place between the attendees and Dr. Jalal about the forum's content. At the end of the forum, Dr. Jalal was honored by the Vice Dean of the College for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassim bin Hussein Al-Asghar.
