The College of Public Health and Health Informatics, females section represented by the Department of Health Awareness and Promotion and the Students' Club organized an awareness campaign about breast cancer at the headquarters of the 24th Developed Secondary School for Girls at Al-Umrah District in Makkah. The campaign took place under the follow up of the College Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, females section, Dr. Mashaail Al-Faifi on Monday Safar 24, 1439 H corresponding to November 13, 2017.
The campaign aimed at boosting girl students awareness about breast cancer, turning the attention to the importance of the early screening, methods used in self-screening besides encouraging them to adopt a healthy life style. A lecture was presented to students about the breast cancer and its risks by the campaign team. After that, an awareness video about the methods of self-screening was displayed and awareness brochures and leaflet related to disease were distributed to female students and instructors. The member of the campaign team included Dr. Laila Suleiman Al-Fakki from the Department of Health Awareness and Promotion in the College of Public Health and Health Informatics and a number of students from the department and the students club.
On this occasion, the Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics Dr. Waheeb bin Dakhilullah Al-Harbi lauded the role undertaken by the female section in the college in providing awareness for the female community in Makkah about the risks of many diseases in addition to prevention ways.
