The College of Public Health and Health Informatics, as represented by the Department of Health Awareness and Promotion (Girls Section), under the supervision of Dr. Layla S. Abdurrahman, has launched a three-day awareness campaign at the College of Medicine, starting on Shaaban 4, 1438H, corresponding to April 30, 2017. The campaign aims at underscoring the importance of agriculture for the environment, meanwhile reiterating the necessity of expanding the plant coverage to raise the proportion of oxygen, and reduce the air pollution that increases the proportion of carbon dioxide.
As part of the campaign, a myriad of plants and trees were planted, after cleaning and preparing the sites dedicated to planting at college yards. The following two days witnessed organization of a number of educational and awareness-raising corners caring for the environment, global warming, chemical hazards, combating pollution, and food safety.
A large number of students, from the various UQU colleges and departments, participated in the campaign, and lauded the rich and valuable information provided through the campaign, with which all attendees were satisfied.
